The Gordon School

Established in 1986.  The Gordon School at Beth David Congregation is a top rated, private, Jewish school located in MIAMI, FL.  The Gordon Schools age-appropriate programs promote growth and development in each child’s intellectual, social-emotional, ethical and spiritual domains.

In 2015-16,  I was hired by The Gordon School to lead a class of Sixteen 5th graders over a 4 month period to design the school yearbook. Throughout the 4 month course I taught them the importance of function, communication, knowing your audience, and layout design.  The idea was to use a central design element that would embrace the schools vision of growth and development, so this being the "Tree of Life". 

 

The hand prints were used to represent the leaves while giving off a "personal touch", as well as to represent growth, since these are the hand prints of the 5th graders who have grown within the school over the past few years and now are graduating and will be moving on.
